Activities & Groups

Committees

Most committees are open to UUCM members and friends alike.

Adult Education Programs

Throughout the year, varied and interesting educational programs are offered based on requests of our members and friends.

Crafts Group

Although the stated purpose of this group is the work of creating things for the annual Holiday Fair, in fact it's a lively and caring group of people who open their hearts, as their hands are busy with needle, thread, scissors or glue.

Friday Guys

Each Friday morning, the "Friday Guys" tackle the seemingly endless list of maintenance and improvement tasks that accompany our lovely, old historic building.

Poetry Group

The poetry group is open to all poets and those who love poetry. You may join at any time. Please bring a poem to share - either your own or a favorite by another poet. The poems are read, then discussed. Read "Kid", written by one of our youth.

Small Group Ministry

Members of these small discussion groups meet with a trained facilitator in private homes twice monthly to share aspects of their lives and meaningful discussion on a selected topic. This is a great way to deepen your connection with others in the community while enriching your inner life.

Tech Team

Lights, candles, heat, hymnals! Each Sunday morning, a member of the Tech Team handles all the little details which make the experience in the sanctuary so beautiful.

Other Groups Meeting at UUCM

UUCM is also home to programs sponsored by other organizations that that benefit our congregation and the larger community. These include:

  • Mindfulness Meditation Programs – see weekly announcements, newsletters and calendar for specific times.
  • Sacred Circle Dancing - On second and fourth Thursdays, 7:30-9:30 p.m., simple, centering dances are taught and shared.
  • Drum and Dance Circle - 4th Friday of each month from 6:30-9 PM.  This circle is open to those who wish to immerse themselves in drum and dance circle rhythm.  There will be limited drums and rhythm instruments available. The cost is a suggested $5 donation. For more information you can call Pam Nowell at 620-9133.
