Our Worship Committee works with the minister to plan for weekly services, guest speakers, summer worship circles, special services (Holiday Revelry, the annual music service, seasonal worship circles, chant circles) and is also responsible for the Sermon Seminar program which trains lay worship leaders.
The Music Coordinators from this committee meet weekly with the minister to choose music and coordinate musicians for worship services. The Worship Committee also coordinates the Tech Team, which is responsible for preparing the sanctuary for worship and monitoring the sound and recording systems.
Music is an essential element of worship at UUCM.
The Holiday Revelry and the spring Music Service are highlights of the year for the music program, but at UUCM music is always a mainstay of our time together. Whether it be a rap for 350 day, a Gilbert & Sullivan parody for Fellowship Dinner, a trio or quartet harmonizing on Christmas Eve, the annual Solstice Sing for Peace, or just joining hands and singing together, music is central to who we are as a fellowship.
All are welcome to participate in enriching our music program, and suggestions of music, musicians, or possible programming are valued.
