Our 7th Unitarian Universalist principle is “to affirm and promote respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.” UUCM is an active member of the UUA’s Ministry for Earth initiative.
In 2008, UUCM started working in the Green Sanctuary Program – an effort supporting the vision that, together, we can create a world in which all people make reverence, gratitude, and care for the Earth a core part of our lives.
In November 2012, after four years of environmental education, stewardship, and activism, UUCM was awarded certification as a Green Sanctuary by the UUA at a time when about 20% of UU congregations had earned this certification. We are very proud of our designation and will continue to pursue sustainable lifestyles as individuals and as a faith community.
