UUCM Mission Statement

We are a spiritual fellowship dedicated to building beloved community within and beyond our doors.

(adopted June 5, 2022)

We are a welcoming community of  people from many faith traditions who gather in fellowship to explore life’s big questions, and we hope you will find us respectful of the path that brought you here.  We support one another on our own and our shared spiritual journeys, celebrating diversity of lifestyles and  religious beliefs.

Unitarian Universalism can be described as a way of being, rather than as a religious doctrine.  Our congregations are made up of  people who identify as Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Pagan, or Muslim as well as agnostic, atheist, or humanist.  We recognize that there are many paths that lead to a meaningful understanding of the holy.

To fulfill this mission, we pledge to act in accordance with our Covenant of Right Relations:

In our interactions at UUCM, we promise to:

Actively reach out to each other
Listen and hear
Speak directly, with honesty, compassion and curiosity
Assume we are all doing the best we can
Keep an open mind
Accept and appreciate each other
Serve our community with generosity and good humor
Be responsible and accountable for our choices
Forgive each other and ourselves
