We’ll hear the story of Alan Diamond, a gay, Irish-born, freelance journalist. As a 12- year-old boy growing up in the Irish countryside, he was utterly confused as he struggled to come to terms with hidden feelings about being gay. As the world celebrates St. Patrick’s Day, he asks us to remember and learn from Ireland’s dark past as much as we celebrate its transformation as we look onward and upward. This way, instead of burying the murky history, we’re ensuring it won’t repeat itself. Join us to hear his liberation story and his tale of how Ireland transformed itself into one of Europe’s most progressive countries and became a haven for LGBTQ.
