Greater Nashua Area Crop Hunger Walk

Walk or support Team UUCM on Sunday, October 27, 2019

Registration: 12:30 – 1:15 pm, Temple Beth Abraham, 4 Raymond Street, Nashua
3.3-mile walk begins at 1:30 pm, followed by a cookout at Temple Beth Abraham

UUCM has participated in the Crop Walk for more than 25 years. This year Souhegan
Valley faith communities will participate in the Greater Nashua Area Crop Walk,
and Susan Dyke Deschenes invites you to join Team UUCM.

25% of funds raised will be distributed to SHARE, Nashua Soup Kitchen, St. John
Neumann food pantry, Corpus Christi Food Pantry, and Nashua’s Salvation Army to
assist those who struggle with food insecurity.

75% of funds go to Church World Services (CWS), a nongovernmental organization. In
the US, CWS operates a number of respite shelters at the US border with Mexico, hosts
a hotline for migrants who have been released from ICE custody, and assists residents
of NC affected by Hurricane Dorian. Worldwide, CWS works with communities to
provide access to clean water, helps farmers deal with the implications of climate
change by providing seeds and assistance in planting new crops, and partners with
other NGOs to assist victims of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.

The 3.3 mile walk will begin and end at Temple Beth Abraham. Much of the route is
through scenic Greeley Park.  Temple Beth Abraham will host a celebratory cookout
after the walk.
